Project: Bowood House and Gardens, Wiltshire
"The Bowood Adventure Playground is known throughout the country. It is a flagship product…Alastair and, at times Barnaby his son, have constructed the majority of the equipment. It has been a partnership between our vision and Alastair’s unique skills. He is an outstanding craftsman. His creations harmonise with nature using, wherever possible, natural materials. We have, over the years, had so much fun and interaction, designing and improving the scope of our equipment to allow children an opportunity to test their courage and dexterity which, in our ‘cotton wool society, is rare."

“Many years ago Alastair Guy came to our Centre for children with Autism. He observed the children and talked to both children and staff to decide how they would like their play equipment to be designed.
He then built us the most fantastic playhouse and swing. The children loved it so much that we decided to fundraise for a rope climbing frame. The quality of both pieces of equipment is outstanding and Alastair’s use of natural products is a huge bonus. The children have enjoyed countless hours of fun on our special playground equipment. We cannot recommend Alastair highly enough.”

"Cornwall Council is very pleased with the play structure that Alastair Guy has produced...sympathetic to the local beach environment that we have here in Bude...At the pre construction stage he provided constructive feedback and ideas on what would be suitable for the site including the use of sustainable materials from within a local area that also mirrored our own views."

Project: Play Barge, Calstock, Cornwall
"…the Play Boat at Calstock, built by Alastair Guy, is an exciting and original piece of play equipment which provides endless play and adventure for children in the area. The materials used and the design are very much in keeping with its location near the River Tamar and the wooded valley slopes. When ROSPA did their annual report for us this year, they described it as an excellent and unique structure."

"...working with the Guys has been very productive and has created some unique play features and street furniture as good as any I have ever seen. The real proof of their quality, for me, is shown by the fact that they have stood the test of time even in locations where vandalism had been a serious problem. The play area in Calstock is a perfect example of this and 7 years on from when it was constructed, it remains as popular and attractive as the day it was built...I look forward to working with the Guys because I can rely on a quality product being produced that not only I like but proves to be popular and respected by the public."

"Alastair Guy’s beautifully crafted pieces sit very well within our parkland and enhance nature’s backdrop. They are the key extra ingredient in our Family Wood. We are confident they will inspire children for many generations to come."
